This Forged Drop Spindle Front Disc Brake Kit is specifically designed for 1954–1965 Type 1 Beetles and 1966 Karmann Ghias with link pin front ends. By integrating high-performance Wilwood calipers, this kit provides a massive leap in safety and reliability over original drum brakes.
Forged Strength & Precision Geometry The foundation of this kit is a pair of 2.5" forged drop spindles. Unlike welded spindles, these are forged for maximum durability and strength, lowering your front end without compromising factory steering geometry or ride quality. The directional drilled and slotted rotors are zinc-plated for corrosion resistance and come double-drilled to fit Porsche (5x130mm) and Chevy (5x4.75") wheel patterns.
Performance by Wilwood Through a partnership with Wilwood Disc Brakes, EMPI offers a billet aluminum caliper designed to fit the stock VW footprint. These Natural Finish calipers provide consistent clamping force and excellent heat management, complemented by Wilwood-specific performance brake pads.
