ABOUT THE ARTFORM 
Blue Pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur. The name 'blue pottery' comes from the eye-catching blue dye used to color the pottery. The Persian Art of blue pottery came to Jaipur from Persia and Afghanistan via Mughal Courts. 

WHAT WE LEARN
In this intensive workshop, we lay focus on the 'art' part of pottery, that is, the motifs and patterns used traditionally like the mughal, florals, geometric and others. We also understand the techniques of applying these patterns on different shapes and products. 

Alongwith this, we will also have detailed learning on the process of making of blue pottery from A to Z via LIVE demonstration. Knowledge of each step would be discussed in detail by the artist.

You can create multiple artworks during the session. They can be created as art on paper. To have hands on experience of working on pottery, you may order the kit (including a ceramic plate, 4 tiles and ceramic paints) here.

We also learn about the history of the artform and how it evolved to its current state.

THE ARTIST:
Gopal Saini ji is an accomplished artist in the field of Jaipur Blue Pottery and the recepient of the most prestigious 'Shilp Guru' award. He has devoted his life to sustain and popularise the artform both nationally and internationally.
