A Japanese Tanto knife with carved bone hilt and scabbard, having a 8" blade, the scabbard decorated with images of figures in a landscape. It is an absolutely stunning artwork. I tried to investigate the signature but there are literally thousands and I don't know enough about a Tanto of this sort. All I know is it is old. (If anyone knows anything about this signature or knives of this sort, I would be grateful of any details)
Features of the Tanto Knife:
- Condition: The carvings are exquisite but there are issues I suspect from age. There are cracks in the bone, the carved bone hilt is damaged - also missing the Kurigata (I believe it is called)
- Size in Scabbard: 16" x 2.5"
- Knife Blade: 8"
