DESCRIPTION: This vintage 1970s tan corduroy jacket is the ultimate cold-weather statement piece. The rich texture of corduroy paired with a plush dark brown faux fur collar delivers that perfect mix of cozy and chic. It’s a look that screams retro glamour while staying effortlessly wearable.
Designed with a relaxed fit and practical details, this jacket nails the balance between comfort and style. The faux fur adds a touch of luxe, while the earthy tan tone keeps it versatile—ideal for layering over chunky knits or pairing with high-waisted denim for a modern twist. Warmth, texture, and timeless appeal all in one piece.
HISTORY: Corduroy, distinguished by its characteristic ribbed texture, has held a prominent place in clothing since the 19th century. Originally valued for its durability and warmth, the fabric’s unique structure—formed by weaving additional warp threads—made it both practical and comfortable. Over time, corduroy evolved beyond its utilitarian roots, gaining favor as a stylish choice for outerwear and trousers. Its popularity surged during the 1970s, when the material became emblematic of casual sophistication and a defining element of fashion-forward wardrobes.
DATE: Circa 1970s
CONDITION: This jacket is in overall excellent, gently worn, vintage condition with minimal surface wear. A few small imperfections that gives this vintage number all the character and charm I love. The faux fur collar is super soft and luxurious feeling. The upper interior is lined with a grey satin like quilted material and the lower portion is a soft durable tan wool. See photos as they act as part of the items description.
