Key Features
- Critical Fire Prevention: Engineered as a non-resettable safety device that immediately cuts power to the dryer’s heating circuit or motor if internal temperatures exceed safe operating limits (trips at approximately 196°F / 91°C).
- Precision Thermal Calibration: Manufactured with a high-sensitivity internal solder link designed to react instantly to localized overheating, protecting your home from potential dryer fires caused by restricted airflow.
- High-Conductivity Terminals: Features two 1/4-inch male spade terminals coated in a corrosion-resistant alloy, ensuring a low-resistance electrical connection and preventing terminal melting.
- Universal Whirlpool Design: The standardized 2-inch white plastic housing fits perfectly into the blower wheel housing mounting slots of virtually all Whirlpool-manufactured dryers produced over the last 30 years.
- Essential 3-Piece Value Pack: Provides multiple replacement fuses, allowing you to restore operation immediately and keep spares on hand—a necessity since this part is designed to fail to protect the machine.

Compatibility & Fitment
This thermal fuse is the most common safety component for the entire line of Whirlpool-manufactured laundry appliances. Key compatible brands include:
- Whirlpool & Maytag: Fits thousands of LER, LGR, MED, and MGD series models (e.g., LER4634EQ2, MEDC215EW1).
- Kenmore (110 Series): Compatible with virtually all 110-prefix models produced by Whirlpool for Sears (e.g., 110.60852990).
- KitchenAid & Amana: Fits various KEDS and NED series units.
- Roper, Estate, & Crosley: Direct fit for dozens of budget-friendly top-lint-filter dryers.
- Note: This fuse is typically located on the Blower Wheel Housing. On electric dryers, a blown fuse usually prevents the motor from starting; on gas dryers, the motor may run, but the igniter will not glow.
When to Replace
- Dryer Won't Start (Electric): You press the start button and hear nothing. If the door switch is good, the thermal fuse has likely blown, breaking the circuit to the motor.
- No Heat (Gas): The dryer drum turns and the air blows, but the air never gets warm. In gas models, this fuse often sits in the burner circuit.
- Dryer Shuts Off Mid-Cycle: The unit was running fine but suddenly stopped and will not restart, indicating a thermal spike was detected.
- Restricted Airflow Warning: If your dryer's "Check Vent" light was on before the unit stopped working, the fuse likely blew due to back-pressure heat.
- Test with Multimeter: To confirm, set a multimeter to "Continuity." If the fuse shows "Open" (no beep), it is blown and must be replaced.
Installation Tips
- Safety First: You MUST unplug the dryer. This part is connected to the main power lead; working on it while plugged in is extremely dangerous.
- Access the Fuse: On most Whirlpool dryers, you must remove the rear panel to reach the blower housing. On some newer models, you may need to remove the front bottom panel.
- Check Your Venting: IMPORTANT: A thermal fuse almost never fails on its own. It blows because your dryer vent is clogged with lint. Before installing the new fuse, use a vacuum to clean the internal blower and the exhaust duct all the way to the outside wall.
- Terminal Transfer: Pull the two wires off the old fuse and push them onto the new 3392519. It does not matter which wire goes to which terminal (non-polarized).
- Don't Over-Tighten: The fuse is held by one 1/4-inch screw. Tighten it until snug, but be careful not to strip the thin metal of the blower housing.
