Balancing the sonic qualities of Martin's Authentic Series and the reliability of a workhorse acoustic, the Martin Custom 000-18 1937 is a quality and versatile instrument for those proud to fly the Martin flag. The sounds and designs of Martin's original and highly valued 1937 models set the pace for this Custom Shop entry. Hearkening to the styles of Martin's past while remaining reverent to sensibilities of players of today, this piece from Martin delivers on a legacy decades in the making.

This Martin Custom Shop model takes a 000-14 Fret shape, constructed from an Adirondack spruce top and genuine mahogany back and sides. For this model, Martin luthiers employed hide glue and cloth strip construction, resulting in an incredibly precise and careful process and totaling an exquisite acoustic product. A Vintage Gloss finish fully wraps the body with a Vintage Toner color and a Stage 1 Aging treatment. This combination of elements details the body with an overall aged and well-loved feel and look right out of the case. Matching Martin's reverence to their legacy of guitars, this aesthetic presentation makes for an experienced and classic visual sum.

This 000-14 Fret is bound with Brown Tortoise pattern binding to accentuate the guitar's curvature and highlight the aged gloss finish. The experience continues with a neck made of genuine mahogany. Shaped in an Authentic 1937 profile with a Standard taper, this mahogany selection offers a full and firm grip in hand. Dovetail neck joint construction connects the genuine mahogany neck to the body and contributes to a stellar playing experience. Smoothness is imparted through a Vintage Gloss finish across the neck's back while an ebony fingerboard matches this mahogany neck and bears twenty frets.

Scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing lines the Adirondack spruce top to enhance overall stability and projection. Across its full body construction, this Custom Shop piece offers an exceptional tone. The braces within this Custom Shop are arranged in a forward-shifted "X" pattern to account for this Martin's 24.9" scale length. Playability on this Martin is enhanced by a number of fine appointments to bring the experience to a satisfying sum. Aged Waverly Nickel Open Back tuning machines line this model's Solid Square Taper headstock for smooth stringing. These tuners are joined by a bone nut measuring 1.75" wide to ground strings stably through to the headstock. An ebony 1930 Style Belly bridge lands at the opposite end of this guitar with a glue-in long saddle, also made of bone. To move safely from once place to the next, this Martin Custom travels with a ply hardshell case.

Straight from the experts at Martin's Custom Shop, this 000-18 1937 embodies so much of what makes Martin a standby name in acoustic guitars. With quality in both sound and form, this Custom Shop is a Martin classic in the making.

Crisp and Clean
Format: Paperback
This book does exactly what it promises. It's a super clean collection of tons of useful commands for any defend-focused team. It's not going to teach you any lessons, really, which is what I was looking for when I opened it. At first I was disappointed, but as I got deeper in I realized what the book was and what it wasn't, and it just got better and better. I wish there were more books of this kind. You don't have to write a dissertation in order to create something useful. Sometimes quick references are the best thing you can have.

This is just what I was looking for. Just a fast lookup of commands needed to get the job done for Linux and Windows. It is not a teaching tool but a good reference for someone who know but needs a fast reminder. And it all corralated to just frame work. Love it

A good birds-eye view book.
Format: Paperback
I own the print version of this book, and am using it to teach a high school class on Godot. What I like: it's accessible and descriptive. The explanations in the later book of why the author is doing something are pretty good. They are written in plain English and most of the reasoning for why some things are being done are explained. What I don't like: the print quality *is* dark, but I'm not sure what you can do about that given that most of Godot is using a dark UI and the book is in black and white. I found it legible, most of the time, but there were moments I had to decipher it from context. Also, I think the initial scripting section is light on details and almost pointless from an educational standpoint. It shows the reader what is going on in normal GDScript, but does not take them through any exercises. The programming aspect of the book is better explained in later chapters, but I think for true beginners the scripting section should be reworked. Overall, I will use it but will supplement it for students. For personal use: if you have basic Godot knowledge this will probably not add too much to your abilities. If you are new to gamedev this is a good way to pick up the flow quickly, even though there is not a lot of depth.
