Na vele jaren hebben heeft SpiderKites de snelste matrasvlieger ter wereld grondig onder handen genomen. Deze racemachine is nu nog sneller en beter!

Op het eerste gezicht is er niet veel veranderd: de vorm is moderner geworden en er is een cel toegevoegd. Daardoor is de Aspect Ratio dus veranderd, de spanwijdte en de oppervlakte zijn ongeveer gelijk gebleven.
Het grote verschil zit onder de motorkap; de profielen worden nu ondersteund door een sterke nylondraad in de rand. Dit maakt het profiel vanaf het begin clean. Betrouwbaarheid van het hogere profiel betekent een hogere efficiëntie, wat resulteert in meer snelheid en grotere trekkracht. We noemen dit Profile Support, vandaar de toevoeging PS in de naam. Een mooi neveneffect is dat de profielondersteuning ook kan worden gebruikt om de toomlijnen te optimaliseren zonder hierdoor extra weerstand te creëren. Hierdoor is het windbereik van de Lycos nog groter.

Beproefde eigenschappen van de Lycos zijn:

  • profiel met lage weerstand
  • Grote kracht door hoge aspect
  • Dunne Dyneema-toomlijnen
  • V-profielen voor optimale prestaties

Door deze verbeteringen in het ontwerp zal de Lycos zelfs bij middelmatige windsnelheid door jagen en het uiterste in je losmaken.

This is one of the good ones. There are other brands just as good, and manny brands are worse, but this handles well, rolls down easily, doesn't come off at all easily, and adapts to dips and curves like a champ. Appropriately heavy and dead, I'm happy with the way it smothers panel resonances and even at muffling direct sound, like a big hand over my Uncle Harry's eternally noisy mouth. You can rip the foil but you have to work hard at doing that. Remember to buy a brayer; you can roll overlaps nice and thin. Also remember to pre-wipe the sheet metal with a decent solvent like acetone or Stoddard/Varsol. It should last forever.

Good stuff, but watch the temp

I used this in my single cab pickup truck (89 ford.) It only took half the box (10 sheets or 25 square feet) to do the floors, but I bought the big box because I plan to do the doors, back wall, and maybe the roof as well. One thing I learned is that the temperature matters when you’re doing the installation. It was around 55F when I started in the evening, and when it dipped down into the 40s the sheets would not stick to the metal, and were hard to compress with the roller. That’s why I ended up only doing the floors and not any vertical surfaces; i will have to wait for a nice hot day. The other thing is that the foil layer on top is razor sharp at the edges, definitely wear gloves! I didn’t notice until after but I have little papercuts all over my fingers. Aside from those things, the install was easy and straightforward. The sheets cut easily with scissors, and any goo that ends up on your hands or scissors can be cleaned up with acetone (nail polish remover), or lacquer thinner. I would use this stuff again.

Supports DP Alt + Power Delivery from one source
This is one of the very, very few USB-C hubs out there that successfully pushes DisplayPort Alt and 100w PD functionality from one source cable to one device. My monitor has a USB-C DP alt port that also pushes 95w PD and this hub successfully pushes both of those to my laptop, phone, and android handheld console. The marketing material says something about USB PD cannot work with DP alt, but it seems to be working fine for me so who knows. With this little hub in-between the link from the monitor to the device, I can now add a USB ethernet adapter and game controller, and I only ever have to plug one USB-C cable into my device (and I am using a USB4 extension cable with no issues as well) and it all works perfectly!
