George Roe, de ooit wereldberoemde whiskeymaker, hielp het gouden tijdperk van de Ierse whiskey in de 19e eeuw bouwen. Zijn distilleerderij strekte zich uit over 17 hectaren op Thomas Street in Dublin en was ooit de grootste exporteur van whiskey in Ierland.
