De Inku Serving Bowl Oval S Green is onderdeel van de Inku collectie, een samenwerking tussen topchef Sergio Herman en Serax. Deze kleine ovale serveerschaal combineert Japanse verfijning met organisch design.

Over de Inku collectie
Het was de Japanse verfijning en onvolmaakte perfectie die topchef Sergio Herman wist te verwerken in het Inku serviesgoed. Het is serviesgoed met duidelijke verwijzingen naar schelpenvormen, bloesems en de abstracte structuren van de natuur. "Met Inku serviesgoed kunnen we niet alleen het bord mooi decoreren, maar complete tafels aanvullen met bloesems in keramiek," zegt Herman, die het serviesgoed gebruikt in brasserie Le Pristine in Antwerpen. "Ik zie het niet alleen als onze taak om mensen vanuit culinair perspectief te inspireren, maar ik wil dat ook creëren met tafeldecoratie." Om dat beeld compleet te maken, wordt de collectie aangevuld met fijn glaswerk.

Interesting book, dull period

As a Marxist historian, Hobsbawm sees the world at this time, as well as the modern world, as a playground for the forces of capitalism. He apologizes for taking a eurocentric approach to world history, while acknowledging that Europe largely determined the course of world events during this period. In spite of the title, there actually isn't much discussion of colonial empires; Hobsbawm seems more interested in how the Age of Empire affected the rulers more than the ruled. His Marxist sympathies are in evidence and at times make his conclusions a bit predictable, but some of his cultural critiques are quite brilliant. The chapter on the dilemmas posed by modern science is exceptional. Reading a book like this seems to me much more interesting than actually living in this period would have been.
