Lightweight Steel Frame with Fat-Tire Geometry

Purpose-built durability meets everyday ride comfort.

High-Tensile Steel Frame

Engineered from premium high-tensile steel, the frame balances lightweight agility with exceptional structural integrity. The triangulated geometry distributes stress evenly across weld points, reducing fatigue over thousands of miles of mixed-terrain riding.

20-Inch Fat Tires

The 20-inch wheel diameter, paired with wide-profile fat tires, provides a larger contact patch for superior grip on loose gravel, sand, snow, and wet pavement. The increased air volume acts as natural suspension, absorbing trail chatter and pothole impacts.

Optimized Rider Geometry

The frame's standover height and reach measurements have been refined to accommodate a wide range of adult riders. An upright yet slightly forward-leaning position reduces wind resistance while maintaining long-ride comfort and visibility in traffic.

Integrated Cable Routing

Brake lines and shift cables are routed internally through the frame, protecting them from snagging on trail-side obstacles and giving the bike a clean, streamlined profile. This also reduces maintenance frequency by shielding cables from UV exposure and debris.

Hydraulic Disc Brake System

Confidence-inspiring stopping power in all conditions.

Hydraulic
Brake Type

Dual-piston calipers with mineral-oil actuation

Disc
Rotor Design

Stainless steel rotors with heat-dissipation cutouts

All-Weather
Performance

Consistent bite in rain, mud, and dusty conditions

The HKM-816019 is equipped with a front and rear hydraulic disc brake system that delivers exceptional modulation and raw stopping force. Unlike mechanical cable-actuated brakes that suffer from stretch and friction losses, the sealed hydraulic system transmits lever pressure directly to the caliper pistons with minimal lag. Dual-piston calipers clamp the stainless steel rotors evenly from both sides, reducing pad wear and eliminating rotor warping under repeated heavy braking.

The oversized brake rotors feature precision-cut ventilation channels that accelerate heat dissipation during prolonged descents. This thermal management ensures that braking performance remains consistent even after repeated stops from top speed. The ergonomic brake levers are adjustable for reach, accommodating both gloved and bare-hand riding.

7-Speed Precision Gear System

Seamless shifting. Effortless adaptability.

7 Ratios for Every Scenario

The wide-ratio 7-speed cassette provides low gears for steep climbs and high gears for fast flat-ground cruising. Each gear change is crisp and precise, with a derailleur tuned for reliability across the entire cassette range.

Thumb Gear Shifter

The ergonomic thumb-operated shifter requires minimal movement to toggle through gears. Designed for quick, intuitive shifts without removing your hand from the grip, it enhances both safety and riding enjoyment on technical terrain.

The 7-speed drivetrain transforms the Model S2 into a genuinely versatile machine. On steep ascents, drop into the lower ratios to maintain a comfortable cadence while the motor assists. On open roads, shift up to higher gears and let the 1,500 W motor stretch its legs. The system works in harmony with the electric assist, allowing riders to fine-tune their effort level and maximize battery range by selecting the optimal gear for any given slope or surface condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common rider inquiries.

What is the actual top speed of this electric bike?

The HKM-816019 Model S2 is capable of reaching speeds exceeding 31 mph (50 km/h) under optimal conditions with a fully charged battery, on flat terrain, and with a rider weight of approximately 165 lb (75 kg). Actual top speed may vary based on rider weight, terrain gradient, wind resistance, tire pressure, and selected assist mode. For safety, always adhere to local speed regulations and wear appropriate protective gear.

How far can I travel on a single battery charge?

Real-world range typically falls between 19 and 37 miles (31 to 60 kilometers) per full charge. This variance depends on several factors: the selected pedal-assist level, rider weight, terrain steepness, ambient temperature, tire pressure, and riding style. Using maximum throttle-only operation will yield range at the lower end of the spectrum, while conservative pedal-assist usage on flat terrain can extend range toward the upper limit. The 36 Ah battery provides one of the largest capacity reserves in the fat-tire e-bike category.

Is the battery removable for off-bike charging?

Yes. The 48V 36 Ah lithium-ion battery pack is fully removable via a secure key-lock mechanism. Simply unlock, slide the battery out of its cradle, and charge it indoors using the included fast charger. This feature is particularly convenient for urban commuters who park outdoors or in shared spaces where power outlets may not be accessible near the bike. The battery weighs approximately 18 lb (8.2 kg) and includes an integrated carry handle for easy transport.

What type of terrain is this fat-tire bike suitable for?

The 20-inch fat tires and robust steel frame make the Model S2 exceptionally versatile. It performs admirably on paved city streets, gravel paths, hard-packed dirt trails, sandy beaches, and even light snow. The wide tire profile (typically 4.0 in or wider) creates a large contact patch that enhances stability and flotation on soft surfaces. The hydraulic disc brakes and 7-speed gearing further expand its capability across varied terrain types. While it is not a dedicated downhill mountain bike, it handles moderate off-road conditions with confidence.

How does the hydraulic disc brake system compare to mechanical brakes?

Hydraulic disc brakes offer several significant advantages over mechanical cable-actuated systems. They provide superior modulation, meaning you can precisely control braking force with subtle lever pressure. The sealed hydraulic system is self-adjusting for pad wear and eliminates cable stretch, resulting in consistent lever feel over time. Additionally, hydraulic systems require less maintenance and deliver more stopping power with less hand effort—a critical safety benefit when riding a heavier e-bike at higher speeds.

What is the weight capacity of the HKM-816019?

The high-tensile steel frame and reinforced components support a maximum payload of approximately 330 lb (150 kg), including the rider and any cargo. The frame's triangulated design and quality weldments ensure structural integrity under load. For optimal performance and longevity, we recommend distributing weight evenly and securing any cargo with appropriate racks or panniers designed for fat-tire e-bikes.

Fantastic art book. As good as the first one.
I love the Airbender animation series. I can still remember the strong nostalgia I had while watching the first episode of The Legend of Korra: Book 1 Air, recalling all the characters from the previous series, and watch how time has passed and given us a new generation to look upon. The Legend of Korra: Book 1 - Air, The Art of the Animated Series is a nice addition to that experience. It's as good as the first art book . The cover art is different from the original product image. It has Korra looking rather too serious. The book features development art from all the 12 episodes in Book One: Air. There are designs for the main characters, followed by the Republic City and its inhabitants and then we have art from each episode in order. Character designs form the bulk of the book. There's Korra in different outfits, including those from Pro-bending gear, and also the cute four-year-old Korra. There are lots of line art and also coloured versions for the characters. Other characters are Tenzin and his family, Lin Beifong, Amon, Katara, and about most of the characters that appear in the episodes. The environment art are beautiful. The buildings and sets have a mix of oriental, industrial and European style. The world has changed since Aang was the Avatar. You'll see some connection to the past, for example, with Avatar Aang Memorial Island. Overall, the world feels very different because it has evolved. My favourite piece is the aerial painting of Air Temple Island that appears towards the end. The last few pages have some pretty cool miscellaneous art, such as the classic Avatar characters in their adult form, and also other characters drawn in non-animation style. Throughout the book, commentary is provided by creators Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko and director Joaquin Dos Santos. They give illuminating insight to the designs and stories. Highly recommended to fans of the series, and those who like animation or character art. It's one of my 2013 favourite artbooks. (See more pictures of the book on my blog. Great companion book to a great "Book One!"
I really like that the creators have been so heavily involved in the comics and art books from Dark Horse, and as such, I want to own all of them after looking at this gem! The artwork is beautiful, and it's awesome reading little anecdotes from the series creators. Did you know that polar bear dogs are feared by the Water Tribes, but Korra met a lost cub when she was little and now she has Naga!? All of the notes add to the universe of the series and make you feel involved in the show. As a fan of the original series, I'm now a little older and can really appreciate the work that goes into entertaining people, so this book is exceptional at presenting that feeling. The book is separated into a few sections, focusing on early development, each episode of the first season, and extra artwork created for promotion such as the DVD cover. I love being able to look at the concept art and notes and then watch the series at home. I highly recommend grabbing the Blu-ray version of the series. It has audio commentaries for each episode, so you are really being thrown into the universe of The Legend of Korra! I highly recommend to everyone who is a fan of the series!

BEST ART BOOK (GREAT GIFT FOR Legend Of Korra FANS)
It is a beautiful book. It was everything I hoped for, but it was bigger than I expected. (I didn't see the measurements/size...oops) The artwork inside is incredible, the detail and effort that was put into this book is amazing. I am a huge Legend of Korra fan, so I was a little nervous when I bought the book. I had my doubts but when received it I was so pleased with it. I could not be happier with this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone considering it to either give to a friend or to buy for personal use.

A good one, albeit not a perfect one
It is a comprehensive look into the series with lots of wonderful art. I felt that it was thinner than the previous book from the Avatar series but I'm not talking about the length of the book (I know this one has less pages an only covers one season) but rather about the "insights" into the creative process. While the previous book felt full to the seams and you could feel that there was a lot of important material that didn't fit, you also felt that all the material that did was included was the best. In this one for Korra, you feel that there were many important things left out that should have been included and there are some things that were included that doesn't feel as important...

Everything you wanted put into a art book
I loved this art book. It showed me basically everything I wanted to see from back drops used and unused, old character designs and how some things came to be or what they were inspired by. The commentary is great though rarely confusing (Ex: at one point they commentary refers to a picture in the top right but says "As you can see by the design in the middle" the middle being something completely different) I feel like this book is a must for fans and people interested in the art of the series alike.
