Abel TR Fly Reel — Native Brook 2/3 WT with Rosewood Handle

The return of a classic, machined right here in Montrose. The Abel TR stays true to the roots of the original click-pawl design while bringing a striking modern feel to one of the most iconic reels in fly fishing. The partially-ported frame, integrated precision-balanced clicker, and pronounced palming rim make this one of the most inventive light-line reels Abel has ever produced — and the Native Brook finish pays tribute to one of the most beautiful native trout in the American backcountry.

Built for 2 and 3 weight rods, the TR is purpose-designed for technical small stream fishing, delicate dry fly presentations, and protecting light tippet on spooky trout. The carbon and stainless multi-disk drag system delivers substantial resistance with the kind of fine adjustability light-line anglers need, while the iconic click-pawl sound brings the soul of vintage fly fishing into a modern reel.

Every Abel TR is hand machined by Abel's master machinists in Montrose, Colorado, the same machinists who build every Abel reel in the lineup. When you buy an Abel from Ed's Fly Shop, you are buying a reel made by our neighbors right here in our hometown — a fitting setup for chasing native brookies in the high country streams that wind through these mountains.

They are back!
Color: Quartz Stone, Size: 38W x 32L
The quartz stone (my favorite color) has been sold out for at least two years. It was looking like this style was going away forever. I check my wish list last week and they are back! Same great quality as before.

Good buy, great fit!
Size: 12, Color: White
Very satisfied with the fit, style, and quality of these shoes. Usually scared to buy shoes online due to the sizing issues or difficulty. These were no sweat. Good delivery as well.

Doesn't really slip on too well.
Size: 11, Color: White, Size: 11, Color: White
Doesn't really slip on too well. Also, since the heel is ridged it unintentionally allows my heel to slip out while walking.

Really like these for casual summer outfits
Size: 10.5, Color: White
These are really nice kicks. Stylish, comfortable, and eye catchy for sure. Not too heavy, good price, and fit well. These are great, casual white shoes for a summer outfit. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars as these do pick up and hold onto dirt and smudges more than I’d like to see. Yes, I know, white shoes are magnets for this stuff, but these tend to scuff and discolor more than I would have assumed. I live in an area with lots of bad weather most of the year so I only get a chance to wear them for a few months of the year unless I want to brave the wet and muddy weather. If you live in an area that has lots of sun and are willing to put these to the test and clean them often, I would say go for it.
