Its unique mortise compression design features a shorter up-shear length, making it specifically optimized for routing perfect grooves, mortises, and through-cuts in thin materials 5/8" thick or less. By pulling the material fibers toward the center of the board from both the top and bottom, it eliminates the risk of chipping on sensitive veneers and laminates.
