Colonel Steve Canyon (Dean Fredericks) was originally a globe-hopping pilot and troubleshooter for the US Air Force, working on all manners of exciting and perilous assignments and investigations. Around halfway through the series, Canyon became the commander of the (fictitious) Big Thunder Air Force Base – though still managed to find himself mixed up with robberies, hijackings, kidnappings, blackmail, assassination plots, murder and Nazi war criminals.
The series was made with the full cooperation of the USAF at an unheard of (for the time) production budget of $1.6 million.Number of DVDs: 6
