ARTIST BIO

“As long as there are questions to ask there will be questions to answer, and I for one believe that with the help of Steven Gregory we can also find answers to some of the questions that for whatever reasons can’t be put into words.”

- Damien Hirst, 2005

Steven Gregory was born in Johannesburg  (1952), later moving to London to study at St Martin’s College of Art  (1970-72) and returning there to complete his degree in 1977. During these intervening years, Gregory was determined to engage with tools and to learn traditional skills, which led him to become an apprentice stonemason to the company Ratty and Kett where he worked on Westminster Abbey and Hampton Court. He found himself quite accomplished with the material, and obtained City and Guilds Craft certificates in stone masonry as well as winning the Worshipful Company of Masons Prize.

Underpinning Gregory’s work is a wicked sense of humour, always looking at his potential subjects with a mischievous glint in his eye. Gregory also has a deep interest in the macabre – since 2002, Gregory has worked extensively with bones and skulls, sourced from a scientific antiques dealer trading in skeletons once used in academic medicine. These pieces explore themes of life and death, exploring our collective anxieties around the topic as well as striking a more celebratory tone. Perhaps as a result of his early training, stone carving also features heavily in Gregory’s sculpture, although he has also developed ideas in bronze and other media.

Gregory’s  2005 solo exhibition Skulduggery, held at the Cass Sculpture Foundation,

received much critical acclaim. He has also contributed to a vast range of major group exhibitions, including Thinking Big, 21st Century British Sculpture, at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Venice (2002-3) and Animal Fantastique at Les Amis du Doujon deVes, Paris (2002). He is also a regular exhibitor at the annual Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition.

The Best Flavor-Packed Toy to Stuff and Chew! 🐾
Flavor Name: REAL Bacon, Size: Medium
Hello, it’s Skye! I’m back with another very important product update. If you are a dog who loves a challenge and loves real bacon, you need to tell your humans to get you the Benebone Ring Durable Dog Chew Toy. Why this ring is my absolute favorite: The Ultimate Treat Bowl: My absolute favorite part about this ring is the hollow center. My humans stuff it full of yummy treats, freeze-dried raw bites, or a little dog-safe peanut butter, and it turns into the best puzzle bowl ever! I will happily spend hours licking and working to get every single crumb out. Tastes Like Real Bacon: Even after I clean out all the stuffed treats, the toy itself is infused with real, delicious bacon flavor. It doesn't smell like fake chemicals; it smells like the real deal, which makes my nose very happy. Super Durable for Heavy Chewing: I have sharp puppy teeth and I love to chomp, but this durable nylon ring is tough. The curved design makes it really easy for me to flip up with my paws and hold securely while I chew away. It keeps me completely occupied, exercises my brain, and satisfies my need to chew. Five paws up for the best stuffed treat ring ever! 🐶🥓

This chew toy is great for aggressive chewers—it’s very durable and holds up much longer than most other toys we’ve tried. The ring shape makes it easy for dogs to grip and carry, and my dog was immediately interested in it, likely because of the real bacon flavor. It’s also a nice bonus that it’s made in the USA and doesn’t have a strong smell for humans. That said, it is very hard, so I’d recommend keeping an eye on your dog while they’re using it, especially if they’re an intense chewer. Over time, it does wear down and needs to be replaced once the edges get rough. Overall: a long-lasting, high-quality chew that keeps dogs occupied—just be mindful of the hardness and monitor for wear.

Long lasting chew toy!
Flavor Name: REAL Bacon, Size: Large, Flavor Name: REAL Bacon, Size: Large
All I can say is wow! I have a Basset Hound mix who will be in the puppy stage for another year, and as we all know, that means dealing with teething issues. Seeing the photo of this product when it was new makes it obvious what he’s done to it. He’s still at it, chewing like mad. Made for medium to large dogs, he happily totes it around everywhere, and I’m always picking it up so I don’t trip over it. The inner cup can hold peanut butter as a special treat for your pet, and I give him some when he’s feeling a bit bored. It doesn’t last long, but he’ll keep chewing on it for a while afterward. For me, the value is worth the price if it keeps his teeth off my furniture—pet owners know exactly what I mean.
