Woodhull was unable to cast a vote for herself because, well, she was a woman. But also because she was in jail. After writing about a scandal involving a prominent preacher who had a known and ongoing extra marital affair, SHE was thrown in jail on obscenity charges. Yeah, that tracks for the times.
