Description

The Gospel-Shaped LifeGospel means good news. It is good news from God, about his Son Jesus Christ, for a world of perishing sinners, offering eternal life as a free gift, to be received by faith alone (John 3: 16). But the gospel does so much more than rescue us from hell and save us for heaven. It also takes possession of our lives and remakes them into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8: 29). This is Gods ultimate purpose for every one of his blood bought

‘Gospel means ‘good news’. It is good news from God, about his Son Jesus Christ, for a world of perishing sinners, offering eternal life as a free gift, to be received by faith alone (John 3:16). But the gospel does so much more than rescue us from hell and save us for heaven. It also takes possession of our lives and remakes them into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:29). This is God’s ultimate purpose for every one of his blood-bought and dearly loved children. How does the gospel do this? And what does a gospel-shaped life look like? And what impact will such a life have on others? These are some of the questions raised and answered by Ian Hamilton in this book. The Gospel-Shaped Life is a book for Christians of all ages. Its goal is to move us to confess with the apostle Paul, ‘Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!’ (Rom. 11:33)

Good gift but particular gift for this difficult person to shop for
Format: Paperback
Got this as a gift for a friend and he was hard to shop for even after asking his wife. He's not a handyman, or a tech savvy man. He cooks, and is a well read man with interests in politics and psychology, he's not at all a gamer either. He doesnt DO much but work, it's not like he works out, golf's or anything like that... And they have a Brady bunch family and all she gave me to go on was he likes malcol x. And this author is more Malcom x than mlk and aggressive in views (when being compared to MLK) but is also very intertwined with their philosophies as he was IN it... According to the person I gave the gift to. Basically he loved it! So

Great Book.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.
