“Pleasure is the highest good.” – Aristippus

We’re not sure Aristippus was thinking about clipping bolts above the sea in Leonidio, but between the pastries, the limestone, the swims, and the eggplant, we do think he was onto something.

Leonidio is one of those places that feels almost unfairly good. Red cliffs rise straight out of olive groves. The food is excellent. The town is lovely. And the climbing? Really, really fun.

The bolting tends to feel a bit friendlier than what many of us are used to in the U.S., which means Leonidio can be an especially fun place to push yourself on lead, build confidence on steeper terrain, and settle into the kind of climbing that feels more playful than punishing. There are incredible routes here in the 5.9 and up range, and for climbers looking to spend a week getting a lot of mileage on excellent rock, it’s a pretty dreamy place to do it.

What to Expect:

This retreat is designed for climbers who already have some outdoor climbing experience and want a week focused on climbing a lot and enjoying one of the best sport climbing destinations in Greece.

Because this trip will run with 1–2 guides, we won’t have the same flexibility to accommodate a broad spread of experience levels so we'll be climbing on routes 5.9 and above.

If you’re hoping to build mileage on great limestone, improve your movement, gain confidence, and climb in a place that feels both inspiring and deeply enjoyable, Leonidio is a very good place to do it.

Save your spot now and join us for an unforgettable She Moves Mountains Climbing Retreat in Leonidio.

What a moving story. I thought I would be bored reading someone’s correspondence, I was not. This is a well written, interesting and moving book. A life in letters. Loved it.

many feelings
Format: Kindle
I didn’t know what this book was about when I first started reading.. one thing I felt at the beginning was…amazement? I love writing letters, something I don’t do often, I recently bought this beautiful fountain pen, I wanted to start small, writing greeting cards to family and friends, birthday cards, thank yous, etc. what I didn’t expect is the emotional toll this book had on me, and other members of my family who read the book for our book club. The subject matters, death of a child, husband dying of cancer, the significance of May 29th, all impacted our family, and so, as I read this book, I had to put it down several times because I had to cry, compose myself, think of regrets I have, and remember. How amazing it is that Sybil was able to write all about the death of her child to her dead child. I always say that writing it down on paper releases your burden in your head…it is true, I think writing letters, even the ones she didn’t send helped her quiet her head, at least for a while. I truly love this book. I have been borrowing books from Libby to read for our book club for a very long time, there have been books that I fell in love with, and always thought if I want to read them again I’ll just borrow them again, this book is the first one that I want to own physically to put on my shelf and know that I have it to read over and over again when I want to reflect and then quiet my head. ( This is the longest review I’ve written about a book I’ve read, I hope it makes sense).
