When to book this instead of a full groom
Dogs on a regular 4 to 6 week grooming cycle often need a tidy at the halfway point. Hair grows back fastest around the face, paws and sanitary area. A hygiene cut handles those zones without committing to a full bath, full clip and the time and cost that comes with it.
Common reasons people book this:
- Hair growing into the eyes between grooms
- Sanitary tidy needed for hygiene reasons
- Slipping on floors because pad hair is too long
- Long-coated dogs who need a face refresh before an event
If your dog needs a proper bath as well, book the full long coat groom or short coat groom instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is a bath included?
No. This is a dry trim only, with a light wipe down if needed. If you want a bath, book the wash service instead.
How often can I book this?
Every 2 to 3 weeks if you need it. Most dogs on a 4 to 6 week full groom cycle book one hygiene cut between grooms.
Can I add areas beyond face, paws and sanitary?
Yes. Tell us at booking. Additional trim work may add a small charge depending on time required.
Will my dog be there long?
Usually 20 to 40 minutes. Quick in, quick out.
Can puppies have a hygiene cut?
Yes, from around 4 months once they're comfortable being handled. For very young puppies, our Puppy Introduction Groom is a better starting point.
My dog is nervous about clippers near the face. Can you handle that?
Yes. We use scissors instead of clippers around the face for nervous dogs. Tell us at booking and we'll plan for it.
Can I use Afterpay?
