Bore-specific — read this. Per EMPI, these heads are machined for 90.5mm to 92mm cylinders only. They are the right head for a 1776cc or 1835cc-class build on 90.5/92mm pistons. CONFIRMED: VW Type 1 1.6L — Beetle, Super Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, Bus, Thing — running 90.5mm or 92mm bore. NOT CONFIRMED / will not fit as-shipped: 94mm bore (such as a 2276cc build) without further machining, and Type 4 engines. If you're on 94mm, ask before ordering — this specific head is not cut for it.
