Why These Star Pearls Are So Special
Back in 2021, these star pearls were the heart of my little shop. I launched my website with them, packed my first orders with them, and they quickly became my best-selling star pearl design on Etsy.
But star pearls slowly became harder to find from 2022 onward, especially the purple ones. Their star-shaped form alone is already a small miracle, and asking for good color and strong luster on top of that… well, that’s asking the universe for a lot.
So I stopped offering this star pearl jewelry anywhere else and kept the last batches quietly for this place — for people who somehow find their way here. (The main reason is that many pearl farmers started planting more round pearls to chase higher profit.)
Each necklace is slightly different. Some star pearls lean more violet, others drift toward a soft blush pink. They’re never perfectly identical, but I think that’s what makes this star pearl necklace so charming.
If you prefer consistency, the white version is safer.
But if you don’t mind a little surprise — something only you will have — then the purple one has a way of finding the right person.
Notes
- No two pieces will ever look exactly the same as the photos — every star pearl has its own shape, glow, and quiet personality. The one that finds its way to you will be the only one of its kind, a small treasure meant for no one else.
- Each piece is handmade in the studio, so it may take up to 5 days to finish. If you need it sooner, just email or DM us — we’ll do our best to move your order ahead for you.
Care Instructions
- Try to keep your pearls away from chemicals and prolonged sunlight exposure. Pearls are organic gemstones — with improper storage, they may gradually lose their natural glow.
- When cleaning, use a soft cloth instead of tissues or paper-based wipes. A pearl’s shine comes from the continuity of its reflective surface, and hard fibers can create micro-scratches that interrupt that smooth reflection. Keeping the surface unbroken is key to preserving its brightness.
- Please check your clasps and pearl thread from time to time. Even though we use high-quality Japanese silk thread on our strung pieces, all pearl strings naturally wear with use — usually after 4–5 years.

The Best for Athletics
Color: Black/Gray
This is a sleek, light wristwatch that will not weigh you down with its bulk. Forget the gigantic profile of a "survivalist" wristwatch. This unisex model is svelte and slim, not adding much to the wake you generate while swimming, or the swing of your arms while running, or the wind as it passes around your wrists and hands while you are speeding by on your racing bike. This is only 34mm across, by 35mm tall, by 11.5mm thick. The wristband is 13mm at its median working width. Timex styling cannot be beat, and neither is the resin-rubber-like material. I don't know about you, but the price is something I take a good look at. I want a watch that is reasonably priced and high-quality. I don't want to spend $200 to $1000 on a watch and worrying about being careful with it. If it gets smashed, it's only $30 to $50, not a big loss, and the quality is way better than what they were making in the 1980's. These watches are made for athletics and the real world.

Great watch, flimsy band

I bought this watch to replace a similar model because the band broke. I see this is a recurrent problem in many other reviews. However, I liked the watch enough to buy it again anyway. I found the new model easy to set, being fairly intuitive. So far it keeps perfect time. I use this watch mainly as a travel watch, and loved the dual time zone function. I am pleased that the newer model now has the ability to set 3 times zones instead of 2, which is an added bonus. The only con I see at this point is the flimsy strap. Unfortunately, the strap on this model is even thinner than on the previous one, and I wonder how long it will last. Also I wonder about the battery length. I think these watches may have been sitting around a long time. The setting showed 2012. I am afraid much of the battery life of the original battery may have already been used up and the battery may need replacing early. Only time will tell. The watch fits my small wrist fine and it is a little more attractive than the old model. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the band problem.

Fine for a man (with skinny wrists)

I have an older mens ironman which has gotten a little beat up and needs replacing. The band is much longer than I need. The metal clasp sits off-center on the underside of my wrist, closer to the part of my wrist which curves around to the front. The too-long strap sometimes flops around and catches on things. I couldn't find a smaller-band mens version, so I tried this "womens" watch (picking the most manly-looking one, of course). I like it better. The band fits my wrist much better, with the metal band in the middle and no flop. I also like that the watch is lighter and the face and band are smaller and less bulky, so it is less noticeable when I'm wearing it (cycling weight weenies will appreciate this). The face is still large enough to be easily legible and contains all of the same great features as my mens ironman watch, plus the newer versions now have an hourly chime, nice! Other info: my wrist is ~17.5cm or ~7.0" around. On this watch, I use the 6th out of 9 slots on the band. On my mens ironman, I use the 3rd out of 9 slots. Weight: this one = 28g, mens = 39g.
Pics show comparison of my prior mens ironman with this new "womens" ironman. Photo order is confusing (couldn't figure out how to change that). They are: (1) side-by-side, mens on left, (2) mens band (wider and clasp is off-center on my wrist, end of band hangs over the edge of my wrist -- too long for me -- catches on things), (3) womens band (less wide, clasp is more centered on my wrist and end does hang over edge of my wrist), (3) womens watch (smaller, and looks new), and (5) mens watch, looking a little beat up.
