In the 1980s Chevy was going above in beyond with taking care of their customers, hence the "Commitment to Excellence". These key chains were given to you with the purchase of a new car, the serial number on the back went into their database with your home address and phone number. The idea behind these were if you lost your keys and someone found them, they would put them in a United States Post Office drop box and the keys would be mailed back to Chevrolet HQ. Chevy would then cross reference the serial number and mail your lost keys back to you. It was short lived but a pretty neat idea.
