Replacement Brake Caliper Pistons
Caliper pistons are the working heart of every hydraulic brake. They convert line pressure into pad clamping force, transfer heat back from the pad, and must slide cleanly so the pad can release without drag. Worn, corroded, or heat-glazed pistons hurt pedal feel, shorten seal life, and accelerate uneven pad wear. Why Piston Condition Matters
- Sealing surface: a smooth, true outside diameter is what the square-cut seal rides against. Pitting or scoring can damage the seal, cause leakage, or create piston drag.
- Heat path: the piston crown sits against the pad backing plate. Material, wall thickness, and crown design affect how much heat reaches the brake fluid.
- Retraction: the seal rolls the piston back slightly during release. A dragging or sticky piston can create hot rotors, uneven pad wear, and poor pedal return.
- Dust protection: the dust boot keeps grit and water away from the seal area. Boot style must match the caliper groove.

High strength and strong corrosion resistance. A practical choice for daily-driven, wet-climate, or track vehicles where pitting and seizure are common failure modes.
Titanium
Low thermal conductivity helps reduce heat transfer into the brake fluid. Best suited to repeated high-temperature use such as track and time-attack calipers.
Material upgrades only help if the piston outside diameter, height, crown profile, seal groove location, and dust-boot type match your caliper exactly.

Installation Safety
- Replace caliper seals and dust boots whenever pistons are removed.
- Clean the bore; do not reinstall a piston into a pitted, scored, or contaminated bore.
- Lubricate the seal and piston outside diameter with the brake fluid or assembly lube specified for your seal compound.
- Press pistons in straight — never cocked, forced, or dry.
- Bleed the brake system fully and check for leaks before road use.
- Brake work should be performed by a qualified technician. Confirm pedal firmness, leak-free operation, and pad clearance before driving.
Safety: A wrong piston can cause leakage, dragging brakes, uneven pad wear, or brake failure. Confirm piston dimensions, seal type, and dust-boot style before installation.
Service Notes
- Inspect piston surfaces for pitting, scoring, corrosion, heat discoloration, and uneven wear.
- Do not mix piston materials within one caliper unless the caliper was engineered for that configuration.
- Use a matched piston set per caliper whenever possible.
- Inspect seals and dust boots at the same time; piston replacement without seal inspection is incomplete service.
- After installation, confirm even piston movement and even pad retraction on both sides of the rotor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will any piston of the right diameter work in my caliper?
No. Diameter is only the start. Height, crown profile, seal groove location, dust-boot style, and caliper bore design must all match. A close-but-wrong piston can leak, drag, or damage the seal.
Which material should I choose?
Stainless steel is the practical upgrade for street cars, wet climates, and corrosion resistance. Titanium is best for repeated high-heat track use where reducing heat transfer into the brake fluid matters. Aluminum suits weight-focused performance builds when the caliper design supports it.
Do new pistons come with seals and dust boots?
No. This listing is for the piston only. Always replace seals and dust boots during a rebuild and order the matching seal kit for your caliper.
How do I measure my old piston?
Measure outside diameter with calipers at multiple points, then measure overall height from crown to base. Photograph the crown profile, seal groove, and dust-boot groove, then send them to us for confirmation.
Can I mix materials across pistons in one caliper?
We do not recommend it. Mixed materials can change clamping balance and heat behavior across the caliper. Use a matched set per caliper unless the caliper was specifically engineered for mixed piston materials.

Good Long Lasting Filters

I've been using Brita pitchers for years and these replacement filters continue to be one of the easiest and most affordable ways to improve the taste of regular tap water without installing a full filtration system. The biggest improvement is definitely the taste. After installing a fresh filter, the water tastes noticeably cleaner and smoother, getting rid of that strong chlorine smell or metallic aftertaste. These standard filters reduce chlorine taste and odor along with impurities like copper, cadmium, and mercury using activated carbon and ion-exchange resin technology. They're also BPA-free and designed to last up to 40 gallons or about two months per filter.
The installation is simple and quick compared to older filter designs. I liked that these no longer require lengthy presoaking and the pull-top cap makes removal easier when it's time to swap filters. The 4 pack is also convenient because it lasts several months for an average household, making it more economical than constantly buying bottled water. My only complaint is that sometimes the water will run through very quickly and other times not so much which makes it harder to discern whether the filter is working effectively. Aside from tha, it seems like a simple and affordable everyday water filter.

Water Comes Out Clean and Tastes Good!

I had a Brita filter while I was in college, and so naturally, I needed to buy the water filter replacements on occasion. These are the original ones from Brita, and they work as well as you would expect! They purify the water you pour into the pitcher, and it tastes good (at least in my opinion)! They feel pretty well made, and I haven't had any issues where the water has come out tasting gross or it getting clogged. It works well, and fits nicely into my pitcher. I've heard others face issues with third-party water filters, so it feels nice to buy the original ones and for them to work without issue.

Very good quality Nitrile gloves useful for sanitary and even mild work around the house protection

I've been using these gloves for years and have been very pleased with them. They fit very well, are thick enough to provide adequate protection, but thin enough to provide a good feel and ability to do tasks requiring finger dexterity. They are a blueish purple and come in sizes to fit most any hand. They do not have talc, so if you have sweaty hands, these are liable to be an issue if worn for extended periods. I use them as a caretaker for personal hygiene activities, bed baths, etc. They have never ripped and in some cases, I 've reused them with no issues. The are definitely good value for money.
