Description

Christianity and LiberalismFor us Jesus does not merely place His fingers in the ears and say, Be opened; for us He does not merely say Arise and walk. For us He has done a greater thingfor us He died. Our dreadful guilt, the condemnation of Gods lawit was wiped out by an act of grace. That is the message which brings Jesus near to us, and makes Him not merely the Savior of the men of Galilee long ago, but the Savior of you and me. ~ from Machens Christianity and Liberalism

“For us Jesus does not merely place His fingers in the ears and say, ‘Be opened’; for us He does not merely say ‘Arise and walk.’ For us He has done a greater thing—for us He died. Our dreadful guilt, the condemnation of God’s law—it was wiped out by an act of grace. That is the message which brings Jesus near to us, and makes Him not merely the Savior of the men of Galilee long ago, but the Savior of you and me.” ~ from Machen’s Christianity and Liberalism

Look Inside the Book

In the twentieth century, theological liberalism was sweeping over America and taking over formerly orthodox denominations. Against liberalism and its attacks on Scripture, creation, the atonement, and the resurrection stood J. Gresham Machen. A pastor in the PCUSA and a teacher at Princeton Theological Seminary, Machen found himself at the center of controversy, and he eventually was de-frocked and lost his teaching position. From that point he helped found the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and Westminster Theological Seminary. In this short but powerful book Machen shows that liberalism fundamentally denies the Gospel and is a completely false religion that has nothing to do with historic Christianity.

“J. Gresham Machen was a stalwart defender of the orthodox Christian faith, one who understood the nature of the corruptions that were facing the church of his time… He was a champion of loving orthodoxy, and of orthodox loving. The way he held them together should be a model for all of us.” ~From Douglas Wilson’s Introduction

THE CHRISTIAN HERITAGE SERIES: The authors in the Christian Heritage Series paid a high price for the words you see before you. Not all paid with blood, but each spent his life fighting for the truth. This faithful sacrifice has become a rich inheritance for the Church in our day, even though it is often neglected. The Christian Heritage Series aims to put these important theological classics on every Christian’s bookshelf in colorful, well-crafted, and affordable volumes, with introductions written by those that love the books and their heritage.

Pleased. Looks nice and set up well.
Looks nice and is a unique look to put mementos, small book, and photos. Pretty solid when tightened up properly. Shelves have a cheap veneer to them but you can’t tell until you touch it. It is very secure if you attach this to a stud. I did not drill to the floor and it is fine. Wall anchors suck in drywall and this is big enough you should be attaching to one stud minimum. Here is A little trick to secure the shelving unit properly if the studs don’t work in your favor. Take a pine 1x3 or 1x4 and cut to the width of the shelving. Paint them the same color as the wall. You will barely notice the board. Place the assembled shelve amd mark where the pipe anchors attach on the wall. Use those marks to place the boards and drill them directly to studs. Mount the pipe feet anchors to the board. See picture. Solid!

Would bug again.
I bought this product for my daughters room to put her Legos on. The support poles are actually metal every bit of them. I can see where people were disappointed with the shelves but this one’s I got we’re not bad. I didn’t expect for 120 bucks solid wood shelves. The quality was good I was happy with my purchase. I turned them upside down and attached to the ceiling so it made assembly a little tricky. I like the results. The instructions are like six pictures for the whole thing, very hard to figure out especially when you are turning it upside down.

A sturdy holder
It’s made well and is versatile. I have the shelf as 2 separate pieces. Perhaps not meant to be separated, I have done so. The pipping pieces are mostly unfixed, so your options are greater as to your personal finish. I recommend greatly.
