School of Fish

Every now and again we all swim against the current. With this artfully depicted school of fish design, beautifully etched and polished fish swim together, save for one little guy headed in the opposite direction. A delightful nod to individuality and the unique spirit inside all of us.

Rolf Poeting founded Rolf Glass in 1981 after emigrating from Germany. The third generation in his family to sell glass-manufacturing equipment, Rolf decided to break the mold and create his own glass design company. Thus, Rolf Glass was born and has been creating unique glassware ever since.

Rolf headquartered his company in Mount Pleasant, a small town renown for its glass industry. Each piece of Rolf Glass is engraved in the historic Mount Pleasant Glass Center, the former Lenox Crystal factory.

Every piece of Rolf Glass is part of a long, storied history of Western Pennsylvania glassmaking. The location of the manufacturing plant is a symbol of Rolf Glass's dedication to keeping the glass industry thriving in Western Pennsylvania and America.

Not a Users Guide
Format: Paperback
Although many readers may find this book useful, it describes a particular approach to Powerpoint. It is not anything like a comprehensive users guide.

Just linear
Format: Paperback
I appreciate that it helps to organize the chaos of information, but I just used the template verbatim with my manager and it did not go very well. He said this linear approach does not work anymore with high-level corporate audiences. They want to cut right to the chase and start to dig into the deep details. This layout with simple images, even if you just pull away the map and anchor slides, makes the storytelling too much like a story, not giving enough credit to the speed at which certain audiences can and do process data on a slide. It was an interesting exercise and I still think this linear layout works in some cases. Just not if you are trying to communicate business case or other C-suite type of information.
