The Ruy Lopez is one of the most important chess openings, hugely popular with amateurs and masters alike. Black players allowing the Ruy Lopez main lines are usually condemned to passivity, defending a slightly worse (though solid) position for as long as White chooses this situation to continue.

World Champion Magnus Carlsen doesn’t like passivity. He likes unconventional and active systems that allow him to take command and put pressure on his opponent from early on.

That’s why Magnus Carlsen revolutionized the old Møller Attack, one of the sharpest and most uncompromising variations against the Ruy Lopez. As yet largely disregarded and unexplored by the majority of players, Carlsen’s new approach allows Black to break free early and start giving White a hard time.

FIDE Master Ioannis Simeonidis is the first to investigate this system, cover it in detail, and make it easy to grasp for club players. He has called it the Neo-Møller. Simeonidis has made lots of exciting discoveries, presents many new ideas and shows that it is a reliable and playable system.

Since the Neo-Møller is a very early deviation from the main lines, it’s easy for Black to actually get it on the board and take opponents out of their comfort zone. Simeonidis has created a compact, accessible and inspirational book. One thing looks certain: White players of the Ruy Lopez are going to thoroughly dislike the Neo-Møller!

Ioannis Simeonidis (1975) is a Greek FIDE Master and FIDE Trainer. He is a contributor to New In Chess Yearbook, the world’s leading publication on chess opening news. Simeonidis is the inventor of a recent new system in the Sicilian (the line 2.Nc3 d6 3.d4!?), also played by Magnus Carlsen.

The con is that they're a bit brittle. We've broken a couple just smacking the plastic against a sidewalk, so you just have to be a little careful. Our puppy chewed on another one and destroyed it, so you might want to keep it out of the reach of your dogs when you're not using it!

Our dogs love it

On one of our trips to the dog park we saw someone using one of these with their dogs, it looked pretty neat and the ball flew so much farther than by hand. It wasn't very long before our dog got caught up in the excitement and joined the pack running after the tennis ball. Our dog stood with the rest of the dogs at the park staring at the ball in this launcher and waiting for the lady to throw it, once thrown the entire pack raced across the park after the ball,...they loved it! I decided to buy our own after watching and seeing how much fun they were having. This arrived a couple of days after I ordered it, and what struck me as funny was our dog recognized it as the toy from the dog park as soon as I pulled it out of the box. She couldn't wait to play. There is a small learning curve, but after a few trial throws I got the hang of it. This 26M launcher is a little large for me, it works but seems to work out better for my husband. I am going to order the smaller 18M size for myself. Both of our dogs had a great time, we had them running all over the place chasing after the ball. It was great being able to tire them out! With this launcher you can throw the ball farther and faster than you can by hand. Being able to scoop the ball up without having to touch it is a bonus, especially when the ball returns full of dirt and dog drool! This ball launcher can also be used with regular tennis balls too so if the ball that comes with the launcher gets lost it is easily replaced. Perfect toy for tiring out our dogs! *Update 9/24/16- I ordered the Junior 18M, it works so much better for me. The longer length of the 26M was starting to make my wrist sore, however my husband has had no issues. I'm 5'4" and my husband is 6'3" in case this info helps anyone make a decision on which one to buy. I know I went back and forth trying to figure out which one, which is why we now have two. ;)

If you are looking for a ball that can stand up next to a heavy, aggressive chewer.. this is a good choice. Our Pitbull literally destroyed any and every toy that she gets with the exception of one kind of kong ball. She loves to chew this thing, chase this thing, sleep with this thing. I most certainly recommend this ball. If it is I'ah proof then it is most certainly, 100% a durable ball and worth every penny
