Lead single "Unbound" is a stunning, yearning piece of music - surely a career-defining moment for the musician, who already made waves with his 2013 debut In The Silence. Afterglow sees Ásgeir depart from the sentiment and sound of his first outing in many ways, bringing a great deal more electronic instrumentation into the fold, and adopting R&B and soul elements. The album leaves behind the folk-tinged acoustics and dives head first into melancholic, melodic electronica in it's purest form. The spell-binding artist has also once again collaborated with his father, Einar Georg, who is credited with writing the lyrics for the entire album alongside long-time musical collaborators, Ásgeir's brother, Thorsteinn, Julius Robertsson and Hogni.

Solid Timepiece

Overall, I’m really happy with this watch. The only small complaint I have is adjusting the bracelet. I picked up a $15 watch repair kit to size it myself, and while it wasn’t difficult, the push-pin links were definitely more of a hassle than I expected—especially compared to my Oyster bracelet with screws. Just a bit time-consuming, nothing major.
Once that part was done, though, I’ve loved everything about it. It’s a great everyday watch, surprisingly accurate, and one of those pieces you just don’t get tired of looking at.
For what it’s worth, this is coming from someone who also owns a Submariner—not trying to flex, and yes, I fully realize how douchey that sounds. Nothing screams “please validate my life choices” like bragging about an overpriced watch that basically just tells time. But in all seriousness, I only mention it to give some perspective on how much I genuinely enjoy this one.
