We hope that this work can, in some small way, inspire Surrey citizens and officials to strive for the best the City can be. The students in our studio were compelled to look, and look very hard, at what the city is, and to imagine, very intensely, what it could be. In the end, what it could be is what it Òwants to beÓ. It seems, to us, that the proper strategy is to simply reveal the city that is already latent. We have come to feel that if the latent city is revealed and capitalized on, it will be of unmatched beauty and appeal - a place that is very much in the centre of our collective imagination of our urban region, and very worthy of that position.
