Senecio radicans ‘String of Bananas’ is a fast-growing trailing succulent prized for its cascading stems lined with curved, banana-shaped leaves that create a lush waterfall effect in hanging baskets and containers. Its vibrant green foliage and easy-care nature make it a popular choice for indoor plant collections and bright outdoor patios in warm climates. During the growing season, mature plants may produce small white to lavender flowers with a light cinnamon-like fragrance. This succulent thrives in bright indirect light, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering, making it ideal for beginner plant owners and drought-tolerant displays. Senecio radicans ‘String of Bananas’ is not considered pet friendly, as ingestion can be toxic to cats and dogs and may cause vomiting, drooling, or digestive discomfort.
