This is one big chunk of a truck. The Range Raptor is a 4x4 pick-up which Ford promotes as being built to perform, designed to conquer mixed with off-road capability and the Ford DNA! It has a choice of two engines – the new 3.0L V6 Ecoboost petrol engine with two turbo chargers or a Bi-turbo 2.0L EcoBlue diesel.
Physically, the truck features a broad front grille with Ford lettering and chunky bumpers and side steps. The 17” alloy wheels, ‘intelligent’ headlights and 1233 litre load space all add to the attraction. The interior has sports style seats, an ergomatically designed heated steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster and 360 degree camera. The 10-speed gearbox is automatic.
The body of our Police Raptor is painted white with all other external and internal body detail completely black apart from a front skid plate finished in silver. The printed colours are the traditional yellow and blue Police chequered squares with yellow and red chevron back. Police lettering appears in black on yellow on the front of the bonnet and red on yellow across the rear tailgate. A silver lightbar has also been fitted to the cab roof. The vehicle is registered AK19 YZE from 2019.
With all the Ranger Raptor’s up to the minute features, it’s no wonder the South Wales Police have included it in their fleet! It’s equipped to deal with anything.
