The Protopasta Fil-anthropy Fund is proud to partner with the Whistle Crew, "a loose federation united by our love for 3D printing and community safety."
Across the nation, our communities' lives are threatened by the presence of ICE. The stories of suffering are endless as we watch our people be gassed, tackled, and shot in the streets of their own hometowns. With a desire to keep our people safe, a grassroots campaign has begun to provide whistles wherever and whenever they're needed. Stores quickly sold out of mass-produced whistles, so our communities put their heads together and designed a number of whistles that can be 3d printed.
The message is simple: Together, we keep our community safe.
- Three short blasts alerts the community of the presence of ICE agents.
- Long blasts indicate that ICE has detained someone. Form a crowd, stay loud.
We've answered the call to keep these printers fed, and allow anyone to contribute positively to the campaign. Even if you don't own a 3d printer, you, too, can gift material to maximize our impact. Your $20 purchase secures 1kg of PLA towards the production and distribution of whistles, up to 500 from each spool!

To spread the word in your community, you can distribute this free zine, courtesy of Teresa Magaña of Pilsen Arts Community House in Chicago. Teresa provided the zine in English and Spanish, but you can find additional languages suited for your community here.

Protopasta is a small company comprised of caring people who are environmentally conscious and community-focused. We're a little obsessed with the things that matter to us like quality, creativity, independence, and doing the right thing. We see physical and social well-being as key components to unlocking creativity.
We don't overcommit to mass production for thin margins because we don't want to be consumed by making the same as everyone else, over and over again. We stay creatively limber by making new things every month, and we want to do extend this by identifying causes we can impact with our competency in making unique, cherished filaments. Focusing on a cause, together we can achieve anything!
While goals and results matter, so does the experience getting there. Even through strife, binding together for good can be a positive and uplifting experience where we overcome fear-mongering fascists. Does that make us punks? Hippies? We don't know, but it's what makes us, us.
We do our best work outside corporate constraints, though this uncapped creativity can serve the corporate world as well. If you can beat 'em, work with them, but that shouldn't happen at the sacrifice of your values!

Fits a Voice Roku perfectly! Aligned and snug. Impressive.
Color: Purple Glow
So I grabbed the Purple Glow. Some of the pictures threw me off. And I realize now those partially translucent pics are to show you how it fits. ::face palm:: I was surprised at how well this fits and it makes the remote bigger so for my med-large hands it is great. I was surprised how I liked the fit.
Now at first I thought I was sent the Lilac Purple. Because mine was not glowing at all after sitting in my living room for a few hours.
I took a HIGH lumen LED light and shined it on one side and went into the closet and it glowed-ish. So irradiated the thing and then it glowed pretty well.
I have seen items like this that whatever is used to make things glow fade over time. I wish there was a manufacturer date on these. I know they can make the unit and print out a new sticker. So you just never know.
I sent it back for an exchange. I do want it to glow. So we will see.
However, if it does not glow I will keep it. Since it is the best fitting and easy to take remote out to change battery.
I have had floppy covers (so useless) and super snug ones that fit perfectly but for me were a pain to on and peel off.

Well made purple remote case!
Color: Purple Glow
I was a little hesitant to get this remote cover because I wasn't sure if the controls would work well over our Roku remote, but it did not disappoint. The full face is open, giving you access to all the front controls. I was also concerned about the volume and mute button on the side, but those work well also. I got it mostly because I was constantly dropping the 'bare remote' and didn't want to have to replace that. The silicone keeps it mostly on whatever I place it on, but if it does drop, it stays nice and snug in the case with no issues. And I love that it's purple!!!

Saves my arthritic thumbs.

This remote case is perfect. I can place the Roku remote in the case on the table so I don't have to hold it in my hand to make changes. This is saving my arthritic thumbs.

Very good design!
Color: Green Glow in the Dark
It isn't really glow in the dark. But otherwise I am impressed. It is designed so that the remote is suspended within the silicone, rather than the silicone being a second skin for the remote. The size and the bright color do make it easier to find, especially since it gives enough bulk to the remote so that it doesn't slide so easily into the dark recesses of our sofa. To my mind, this cover ensures my remote is safer from falls. We were managing to drop it a lot. The remote by itself is remarkably slippery, I was grateful for the fast 2 day delivery.
