Crafted from high-impact resistant plastic, the HipChain 2 measures distances up to 9999.9 meters and includes a 5000-meter spool of photodegradable thread. The design features a slim cone that holds the longer thread spool, which securely interlocks with the case, reducing snags and simplifying rethreading, saving you time in the field. A new friction brake ensures consistent measurement accuracy across units.
The HipChain 2’s high-visibility red case is built for durability, with metal hinge pins for cold weather resilience and a sturdy metal clasp. The conveniently placed reset knob at the rear allows for a sleek, smooth outer profile. This knob can be easily turned with a finger from the side or top. The paired gear sets enable easy calibration from feet to meters without additional parts, keeping the retail cost consistent regardless of the chosen calibration.
