Why 6mm is the comfort-control sweet spot

If you appreciate support under knees, hips, and wrists, 6mm hits a beloved balance: soft enough for joint relief yet stable enough for confident movement. Independent gear editors frequently recommend 6mm-plus mats for restorative or slower flows because the extra cushion reduces pressure—while thinner mats can feel a touch steadier for advanced balance work. Choose the feel that matches your practice. SELFYoga Journal

Materials & design (made to practice—and last)

This mat uses PER, a performance-minded, easy-care material that avoids common allergens. The geometric Leah Duncan artwork is UV-cured to help preserve color over time, while the non-slip texture supports planted hands and feet on dry skin. An anti-tear construction stands up to regular roll-and-go use, and the moisture-resistant surface makes quick wipe-downs a breeze. Yune Yoga

Grip & traction you can trust

From standing sequences to core work, the Geo’s textured top helps you move with intention and stability. If you sweat heavily or love heated classes, layer on a mat-sized yoga towel—it adds traction and a hygienic, machine-washable barrier that keeps your mat fresher between deep cleans (a bonus any studio regular will love). REI

Care & cleaning (simple + effective)

Make maintenance easy so you can get back to your breath: wipe with mild soap and water and air-dry flat out of direct sun after class. For a deeper refresh, REI’s step-by-step guide suggests a short soak → gentle scrub → rinse → full air-dry. Prefer a DIY spray for quick post-class wipe-downs? REI’s formula uses a 1:4 vinegar (or witch hazel) to water ratio in a small bottle. Always follow your mat’s care notes first. REI+1

Pro tips

  • Keep a travel-size spray bottle in your gym bag for quick between-class cleanups. REI

  • In hot yoga, pair the mat with a full-length towel to manage sweat and protect the surface—then toss the towel in the wash. REI

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.
