The Whittet-Higgins BMS-00 is a stainless steel BEARHUG prevailing-torque self-locking bearing locknut from the metric BMS series. It threads directly onto a shaft and locks through a heat-stabilized polymer locking ring that generates prevailing torque, keeping the assembly secure against vibration, shock, and torque without damaging the shaft threads.
The integral locking ring eliminates the traditional locknut-and-lockwasher pairing as well as the need to cut or repair a shaft keyway, while still allowing infinite adjustment and preload. Balanced for higher-speed service and built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, it meets and exceeds ISO 2982-2:2013(E), is rated to a maximum operating temperature of 160 deg F, and is manufactured in the USA and RoHS compliant.
