- US L-11 (8 mm) aluminum crochet hook (optional);

Difficulty: beginner.

The yarn I chose for this kit is soft Acrylic. And since it has no animal fibers, it is hypo-allergenic - perfect for babies.
Also the blanket is machine washable and dry-able. I think it's important for baby stuff because it can get dirty pretty fast.
