Ab Ende Mai bis Mitte Juni kann man die Blten mit einem gekruseltem Saum bewundern. Die dunkelvioletten Blten sind im inneren rtlichviolett gefrbt und noch zustzlich samtig schwarz gefleckt. Diese Sorte ist eine echte Augenweide und bevorzugt sonnig bis halbschattig Standorte.

Der Rhododendron 'Azurro' hat tiefrüne Blätter, die einen tollen Kontrast zu den dunkelvioletten Blüten bilden. Ab Ende Mai bis Mitte Juni kann man die Blüten mit einem gekräuseltem Saum bewundern.
